Prince George Wears Slippers To Meet The Obamas Before His Bedtime

Two-year-old Prince George may be the only person to ever wear pajamas while meeting President Barack Obama.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted the president and first lady Michelle Obama at Kensington Palace for a dinner this evening. The group posed outside the palace, along with Prince Harry, before heading inside. George stayed up past his bedtime to meet the Obamas, wearing a white robe customized with his name and a pair of light blue and white gingham pajamas. He capped off his look with velvet slippers by London brand Trotters. The slippers are embroidered with an image of a plane and are already sold out on the Trotters website.

George also showed off his white rocking horse, which the Obamas gifted him when he was born. His younger sister, Charlotte, didn’t make an appearance.

George’s mom, Kate Middleton, wore an L.K. Bennett silk printed dress and Rupert Sanderson suede pumps for the occasion. Earlier in the day, Michelle Obama opted for Jimmy Choo pumps for a lunch with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

This week, George posed in a photo with his father, grandfather and great-grandmother — the queen — in honor of her 90th birthday. He wore his trusty Start-rite Jo T-strap shoes.
