Lacoste Collaborates With Clyde Edwards On New Dash Style

Lacoste, the footwear and apparel supplier of the Miami Open tennis tournament, plans to celebrate its heritage in the sport with a new collection.

The athletic lifestyle brand partnered with Miami-based tastemaker Clyde Edwards on its classic Dash model, which turns 30 this year.

The new Dash style will come in two colorways.

Both silhouettes, priced at $190, take cues from the sport’s iconic symbols such as yellow tennis balls, and are rooted in the brand’s DNA.

“The goal was to remain true to the Lacoste brand DNA, celebrate tennis heritage and update this 30-year-old classic silhouette,” Edwards wrote on Instagram. “We were told that Jean Rene Lacoste himself would have been proud.”

The tennis ball-inspired line boasts a fluorescent yellow felt tongue. And the upper features a sports-inspired technical mesh as a nod to the on-court net.

Lacoste plans to offer as many as 450 pairs of a second Dash silhouette that takes cues from the tennis racket.

That style comes in white leather — a tribute to the colors Rene Lacoste wore in his playing days — along with an accented red color.

The Miami Open began on Monday.
