Sperry Restocks Limited-Edition Collection Of Looks Inspired By ‘Jaws’

Original story posted 4/28/18: Just when you thought it was safe to step into a pair of Sperry shoes, think again.

The legendary seafaring brand, worn by the original cast of the 1975 blockbuster movie “Jaws,” is releasing a limited-edition series in May inspired by the Steven Spielberg-directed film.

The Sperry x Jaws collection retails from $70 to $80 and includes the men’s A/O 2-eye Shark Attack boat shoe, unisex Striper S/O Shark Attack slip-on sneaker and women’s Seacoast Water lace-up sneaker.

They will be available exclusively on Sperry.com and at Journey’s beginning on May 5, followed by a wider retail release both in the U.S. and internationally on June 9.

The collection, in collaboration with Universal Studios, features authentic “Jaws” imagery from the iconic shark to a swimmer innocently enjoying a day at the beach. Even the footbed has some fun with warnings such as, “No swimming, hazardous area, beach closed.”

For those who may weaken at the sight of blood, beware of the packaging. Inside the box, which features the shark image that appeared on the movie posters, is blood-red tissue paper.
