Sperry Collaborates With British Design House Sanderson For Exclusive Collection

Everyone’s in a royal mood today as Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday.

Getting in on the festivities this side of the pond is Perry. The Americana brand has partnered with U.K.-based design house Sanderson, a world leader in interior decorating and holder of the Royal Warrant — those tradespeople who supply goods or services to a royal court or royal personages — for a limited-edition collection inspired by the firm.

Sperry has selected one of Sanderson’s most iconic prints, Seagulls, for a series of women’s styles including vulcanized looks to boat shoes. First introduced in the 1930s, the pattern was an answer to the modernist designs that dominated during the period. It remained in the company’s collection for four decades, a testament to its enduring style.

The Sperry x Sanderson print collection is available in four silhouettes and two colorways that include seafoam and gray. Sizes range from 5 to 10, along with 11 and 12.  The series is set to launch on July 7 and will be available at Sperry stores and online.

Since the queen tends to dress up, the collection might be a better fit for the younger generation of royals such as Kate Middleton, who has revealed her more casual side to the public.
