DJ Khaled And Zappos Kick Off Same-Day Delivery Tour

Zappos Inc. plans to add a fresh spin to its delivery service.

The Las Vegas-based e-tail giant said today it will partner with hip-hop producer DJ Khaled to kick off its new effort to deliver merchandise to customers the day it was ordered.

Khaled, who earlier this week was wanted by local law enforcement in Miami for not showing up in court over a minor boating violation, is expected to surprise “a few lucky customers with free same-day deliveries,” according to a Zappos statement, released today.

The 40-year-old, Miami-based Khaled, who shot to Internet fame after releasing a number of Snapchat videos in recent months, is expected to knock on shoppers’ doors in six cities throughout the U.S. Khaled is currently touring the country as the opening act for Beyoncé’s The Formation World Tour.

The company and DJ Khaled started the same-day delivery-service tour — his bus is wrapped with an image of Zappos’ white signature box — on Wednesday with a Snapchat takeover.
