Reebok’s Kendrick Lamar Drops Surprise Album

Kendrick Lamar fans woke up to a pleasant surprise this morning: The rapper released a new album, “Untitled Unmastered.”

The project features eight “untitled” tracks of previously unreleased, untitled and unmastered songs from 2013 to 2016. The album is available on various streaming sites and iTunes.

The album drop comes after Lamar’s headline-making performance at the 2016 Grammys last month. He performed in Reebok Classics and received a standing ovation after his explosive showing of “Blacker the Berry” and “Alright.” Lamar took home five Grammy Awards on Feb. 15.

Lamar teamed with Reebok a year ago and has been featured in various ads for the brand. So far, he’s released his own sneaker collaboration and has been the face for the reintroduction of the Reebok Ventilator.

Now, Lamar is joining the brand for the reintroduction of the Reebok Classic Leather, which debuted in 1983.

In a conversation with Footwear News last year, he discussed his new partnership with Reebok, saying, “It initially started in middle school, just being a fan of the music and that people were wearing the Reebok Classic in all-white. Now fast forward to partnering up now. [It was important to me to work on] something that has a history rather than just a great shoe. A lot of time, different opportunities were put in my face, but it had to be real to me.”

For spring ’16, the Classic Leather design details remain the same. The sneakers have a clean white, premium leather upper and a retro gum sole.
