Alexander Wang‘s announcement of his collaboration with Adidas Originals was a total surprise when it was revealed Saturday at his spring ’17 runway show, but it was no surprise that it drew major crowds for the initial release on Sunday.
Although the collection isn’t officially available until spring, Wang and Adidas offered an early drop. The catch? Fans hoping to get their hands on the shoes had to wait in line for a pop-up truck at three locations in New York City.

The first stop was Canal and Mercer streets, followed by 57th Street and Fifth Avenue and McCarren Park in Brooklyn. There will also be pop-ups in London and Tokyo on Sept. 17. The collection will be carried in Alexander Wang and Adidas Originals stores in the spring.
