How to Win an Adidas Yeezy Boost Raffle by Rapping

We can’t all be Kanye West, but that doesn’t mean you can’t put your lyrical talents on display in the name of Yeezy Boosts.

Thanks to New York-based sneaker boutique Rise, Yeezy fans now have another way at procuring what is already one of 2016’s most talked about shoes. Instead of purchasing raffle tickets or reposting images on Instagram, Yeezy seekers can record a 30-second freestyle rap and post it on Twitter for a chance to purchase the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2.

When asked why he chose to opt for the freestyle rap contest, Rise co-owner Chase Ceperano told Footwear News that it all goes back to the boutique’s musical roots. “Having previously been in the music industry, I’ve styled some much of what we do here around audio,” Ceperano said.

“So, when handling a product attached to Kanye, it was only right that Rise made it about the music. There’s no other independent retailer that could organically execute a product launch in this way.”

The contest closes on Sept. 23, and as of 4:49 p.m. ET on Sept. 21, it had already amassed more than 500 entries. “The overall response from the audience has been incredibly positive. The fact that people are genuinely having fun with it is what matters most to us,” Ceperano told us.

Below, you’ll find a few of the contests top entries. Meanwhile, to enter, you’ll need to tag @RISENY on Twitter, then add your US shoe size, the hashtag #RISEforYEEZY, and a 30-second a cappella rap freestyle video. Visit rise45.com for more details.
