Thaddeus O’Neil looked to another brand with surf origins for his latest presentation.
The New York designer tapped Ugg to outfit models at his spring ’17 show at New York Fashion Week: Men’s in the brand’s Classic Minis and Scuff Slippers, both in the chestnut colorway.
“I’ve surfed pretty much my whole life, and I still have my first pair of Ugg boots from when I started surfing,” said O’Neil. “Considering the Ugg brand’s surf origins, this was a natural partnership for me. It complements my vision of designing fashion through the oceanic and bohemian lens of surfing.”
Rob Koenen, vice president of Ugg for men, said it is thrilled to be working with O’Neil.
“This partnership honors our history while beautifully showcasing the effortless and modern styling of our future,” said Koenen.

This isn’t the first time Ugg has collaborated with a high fashion designer. The brand outfitted models at the Marchesa spring ’16 runway show while they were backstage getting their hair and makeup done.
