Stuart Weitzman gave Footwear News the inside scoop on what his favorite shoe moment was growing up and what was his most memorable pair.
“[My fondest memory was clomping] around the house in my mother’s high-heel peep toes,” he said.
The designer would get a pair of new shoes twice a year, but he never felt like that was enough, and only remembered buying shoes on his own.
On his favorite shoe moment: “Taking apart my mother’s red patent leather pumps — the right foot only. Our dog took apart the left shoe.”
On his most memorable pair of shoes: “My baseball cleats when I made the Little League team.”
Now, Weitzman creates shoes for the world’s top models such as Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge and Joan Smalls. Fellow model Kendall Jenner was the latest to be spotted in a Weitzman design. She stepped out in a pair of the ever-popular Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandal on Thursday at the Magnum Double Dare launch party in Cannes, France.
