Kate Middleton traded her heels for boots today in Bhutan, as the Duchess of Cambridge and husband Prince William went on a hike up to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
Middleton wore a pair of skinny jeans, a white button-down shirt, a vest and Penelope Chilvers brown leather tassel boots, which retail for £475 — or about $674 at the current exchange rate. Prince William also wore casual pants and hiking boots. Both topped off their looks with Ray-Ban sunglasses.
According to an Instagram post by the Penelope Chilvers brand, Middleton has owned the boots for 11 years.
Prince William’s father, Prince Charles, visited the same spot during his trip to Bhutan in 1998.

The couple hiked for about five hours, and later in the evening they attended a reception to meet people from Bhutan who have lived or studied in the United Kingdom. On Saturday morning, they will fly to Agra, India — home to the Taj Mahal. Many are anticipating this leg of the trip, as Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana, took an iconic photo there during her visit in 1992.
