President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama — in embellished metallic kitten heels – tangoed in Argentina on Wednesday evening.
The Obamas were guests of Argentine President Mauricio Macri at a special dinner celebrating their visit, and they were swept onto the dance floor by professional tango dancers.
Although reluctant at first, the Obamas gamely showed off their skills at the event — which was criticized by some political observers who think the president should have returned home after this week’s terrorist attacks in Brussels.
President Obama has been determined to forge ahead with his historic trip, however. Earlier this week, he and his family visited Cuba to make a major statement as the two countries work to restrengthen ties.
There, Michelle Obama chose Jimmy Choo for two big occasions. When she stepped off of Air Force One on Sunday, the first lady wore Choo’s “Vee” flats with a Carolina Herrera dress. During a state dinner in Cuba, the first lady donned the label’s “Aza” black patent pumps with her floral Naeem Khan frock.
