During fashion month, it’s not all about what’s on the runways. Look to the streets and one can see what trends are major right now on the fashionable folks heading from one show to the next. Here, FN rounds up the most popular shoes spotted during the fall ’16 runway shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Gucci‘s range of loafers, from classic flat styles with the brand’s signature horsebit detail to its heeled version, were the absolute favorite during the fall ’16 shows. We spotted pairs in classic brown and black hues to ones done in gold and red.
Another favorite was Miu Miu‘s double-strap lace-up flats. The simple ballet flat has an edgy feel with two buckled straps and grosgrain ribbon.

Dior‘s latex boots, which debuted for fall ’15, were a huge hit with street-style stars. The boots’ popularity is dwindling, making way for a new Dior style that could soon become just as sought-after. The ankle-wrap pumps and flats feature a pointed toe and a buckle both across the foot and around the ankle, and they are offered in black, white and blush pink.
Everyone loves a great classic shoe, which is where Chanel‘s cap-toe slingbacks come in. The current favorite way to wear the shoes is with a contrasting pair of ripped, loose-fitting pair of jeans.
