Ports 1961 Men’s Spring 2017 Collection

The Mood: Milan Vukmirovic kept it light both in color palette and construction this season. Knits had small bits of fringe, dress shirts had woven embroidery, and white shorts had varsity striping. The collection felt preppy and, frankly, easy to wear. But being too easy can also be a bad thing.

The Verdict: Like its contemporary competitor No. 21, Ports 1961 is still finding the balance between being experimental with mass appeal. The sneakers are definitely a step in the right direction — it’s not easy to stand out in such a saturated market — but give us something new to work with, too.
