The platform shoe reigns supreme for spring ’17.
As New York Fashion Week wraps up, it’s clear that this is one silhouette we’ll be seeing everywhere when that season’s merchandise hits stores. Coach, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Proenza Schouler all showed their take on the edgy flatform. Lim’s tasteful use of studs on the solid and snakeskin shoes make them a surefire street-style pick.
Proenza Schouler offered its clunky platforms in a solid, colorblocked, patterned and woven option.
Heeled versions came courtesy of Michael Kors, who showed a flower-adorned pair as well as a black pair with a sturdy ankle strap that had model Bella Hadid tumbling on the runway. Vera Wang, who also offered lug-sole platforms last season, this time showed sharp cut-out buckled platform boots with a pointed heel.

Thom Browne provided a bit of whimsy with his platform wedges, each complete with an anchor to fit the nautical theme of the collection.
