FiveFinger Shoes Hit the Runway at New York Fashion Week

No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. Those are Vibram FiveFinger running shoes on the New York Fashion Week runway.

The emerging avant-garde fashion brand ThreeAsFour sent models down the runway on Sept. 13 wearing the webbed, minimalist running footwear.

The collection featured a variety of prints and patterns patched together for bold, colorful looks. Dresses came with structured shoulders and ruffles and were featured with a modified version of the iconic shoe to look slightly more ready for the runway.

Some looks had the full FiveFinger style with them. While the shoes aren’t exactly what one thinks of as runway-ready, they certainly added a point of differentiation to the shows this week. ThreeAsFour was founded by Gabriel Asfour, Angela Donhauser and Adi Gil in 2005.

The styling choice was one of the wildest we’ve seen. To see even more crazy shoe moments from the New York Fashion Week runways, click through the gallery.
