The Best Street Style Looks From Men’s Fashion Week In Milan

As the spring ’17 men’s shows come to a close Tuesday in Milan, it’s been another risk-taking season on the men’s fashion calendar. While the guys may have gone glam on the runways at Dsquared2 (where they strutted in sequined Bowie-esque boots) or embraced cartoon quirkiness at Gucci, street-wise gents (and a handful of female counterparts) made altogether subtler moves.

The concrete catwalk, if you will, again impressed upon us the continuing tight clutch of the sneaker trend. Standouts included retro Nike dunks, designer high-tops and sleek low-courts, in materials such as box-fresh white leather and mirrored gold patent.

How do you say “normcore” in Italian? Because both men and women took to the comfort-sandals-and-socks trend in Birkenstock, Teva and the like, either styled tonally to match and clash. Echoing the collections, the same mashup could be seen at Marni, Prada, Versace and MSGM.

The more traditionally natty set stood out for their adherence to old-school menswear codes: tasselled suede loafers, glossy oxfords, polished brogues and velvety smoking slippers.

Speaking of literal looks, street style perma-pressence Anna Dello Russo even sported a traditional three-piece suit, tie and all. And on her feet? A towering two-strap stiletto.
