While he was snubbed in the Best Rock Album category, David Bowie‘s critically acclaimed final album “Blackstar” was nominated in three other categories at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, airing Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
The title track “Blackstar” was nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance, while the album was nominated in the Best Alternative Album category.
Bowie had style unlike anyone else during his time. Fearless, sexually ambiguous and transformative, you never knew what you were going to get. The late star wasn’t afraid to go against the norm — whether that meant flaming jumpsuits, eye patches and, of course, his famous platforms.
