Statement Shoe Styles From ‘Sex and the City’

This story has been updated from its original Jan. 3, 2017 published date.

Though “Sex and the City” came to an end more than 10 years ago, fans were lucky enough to get a little more Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) in their lives when the HBO series was reprised for the big screen in 2008, then again two years later for “Sex and the City 2.”

Now, more than a decade later, Parker, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) will reunite once again. A revival of the series is heading to HBO Max, according to Parker, who confirmed the news on Instagram on Sunday night.

“I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now? X, SJ @HBOMax @JustLikeThatMax #AndJustLikeThat #SATCNextChapter,” Parker said in the post.

Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, will not be returning, Variety and Deadline reported. The series will include 10 half-hour episodes and will begin production in New York this spring, according to the outlets. Additional casting information has not yet been released.

While we don’t have all the details on the show’s revival, what is safe to say is that fashion will play a role.

Manolo Blahnik — and designer shoes in general —  became synonymous with “Sex and the City” since it debuted in 1998 as a TV series. Ten years later, shoes were still the focal point. Remember those Manolo Blahnik blue satin Hangisi pumps from the first film?

Throughout the ’08 film, Parker had access to a bevy of footwear designers, including Dior, Valentino and Christian Louboutin, thanks to costume designer Patricia Field. One shoe that was seen more than once during the first “Sex and the City” movie was the Dior Extreme. The gladiator sandal retailed for $770 at the time.

For the scandalous and fan-favorite Samantha Jones (Cattrall), she was dressed in Patricia Field and Stuart Weitzman shoes.
