Already a master of sporty-chic ensembles, Gigi Hadid is stepping up her fashion game by attempting two tricky trends at once.
Out and about yesterday in New York City, the supermodel was spotted in mom jeans and dad shoes — both retro trends that are no easy feat to style, let alone wear together.
She wore a pair of high-waisted denim jeans in a medium wash that were cuffed at the ankle, making way for a ’90s-inspired ultra-chunky all-white sneaker by fast-fashion label Naked Wolfe. The handmade shoes had the brand’s name printed along the laces and featured a full leather upper as well as an insole sock, plus a nearly 3-inch platform.
Hadid topped off the outfit with a Fendi logo tee, rolled up at the shoulders and tucked into the waist. The shirt was first seen during Milan Fashion Week, when Fendi debuted its “re-appropriated” Fila ready-to-wear pieces and accessories with a logo designed by Scottish-born artist Hey Reilly. She finished the look with violet-tinted Westward Leaning sunnies.
The 23-year-old Hadid, who celebrated her birthday in April, serves as brand ambassador to Reebok, most recently modeling the brand’s famous Freestyle Hi silhouette in its spring 2018 Reebok Classic campaign.
