Although she’s still on maternity leave, Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance in London today, reuniting the royal fab four to attend the Royal Air Force centenary celebration at Westminster Abbey.
It marked their second appearance as a family in 24 hours — and the second time this week that the Duchess of Cambridge has chosen an Alexander McQueen piece for a royal outing.
At son Prince Louis’ christening yesterday, the mother of three opted for a white dress by the same designer she wore to both Prince George’s and Princess Charlotte’s christenings, as well as her 2011 wedding to Prince William.
This time, Middleton selected an Alexander McQueen coat dress in a pale blue shade that matched her Sean Barrett fascinator and delicate box clutch. On her lapel was a Royal Air Force Dacre brooch, decked with diamonds and rubies, which was awarded to the duchess when she became an honorary air commandant in 2015. (Newly minted royal Meghan Markle has yet to receive her jewel.)

For footwear, Middleton went for neutral-hued suede pumps that elongated her legs and allowed her dress to take center stage. She finished the look with a statement pair of drop earrings.
The RAF festivities concluded with a commemorative service at Westminster Abbey and a flypast of 100 aircraft over Buckingham Palace.
