Prince George Can’t Get Enough of This Brand’s Preppy Shoes

Britain’s Prince George may have a massive wardrobe that most can only dream of, but there is one item in his closet that he’s given some serious mileage.

The 4-year-old British royal has stepped out numerous times in what has clearly become his go-to footwear look: Papouelli‘s classic Barnie loafers. The navy-blue leather shoes, which retail for about $91 to $114 on the London-based brand’s website, feature a sporty pebbled rubber sole that’s common to driving mocs and other classic loafer looks. Papouelli also offers similar loafer styles in both suede and leather and in a variety of colors, as well as a version with Velcro straps.

George was first spotted in Papouelli’s Barnie shoes two years ago when he accompanied his parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and his sister, Princess Charlotte, on a royal tour of Canada. There, he attended a children’s party for military families at the Government House in Victoria and paired his adorable shorts-and-sweater ensemble with knee socks and his Barnie loafers.

He also sported his trusty shoes on his first day of school last September while posing for his family’s 2017 Christmas photos and visiting his newborn brother, Prince Louis, at St. Mary’s Hospital in April.

George wore them again yesterday when he joined his family to celebrate the christening of 2-month-old Louis at the Chapel at St James’s Palace in London. This time, he paired them with navy-blue shorts and a white short-sleeved shirt detailed with blue piping.

Clearly, the little prince has learned a key rule of fashion: When you find something that works, stick with it. And it seems his sister is catching on to the idea. Three-year-old Charlotte has been spotted on several occasions wearing Spanish brand Doña Carmen‘s classic buckle-strap Mary Jane shoes. (Perhaps she has found her footwear favorite, too.)
