Fila Signs Tennis Legend Björn Borg’s 15-Year-Old Son

Like father, like son.

Swedish tennis legend Björn Borg dominated on the court wearing Fila, and today the label announced that his son, Leo, will also sport its branding during competition.

The younger Borg, a 15-year-old athlete, is now an ambassador for Fila. In November 2017, Leo won the U14 Swedish Masters title and was ranked No. 1 overall in the Under-14 age group in Sweden.

The sponsorship agreement, Fila said, will have Leo in the brand’s footwear and apparel both on and off the court and will be featured in advertising starting in 2019.

“We are thrilled to partner with Leo as we continue our commitment to the next generation of tennis players,” Gene Yoon, global chairman at Fila, said in a statement. “As the newest member of the Fila family, we are excited to support Leo as he strives to leave his own mark on the game.”

In March, Fila announced that it had partnered once again with the elder Borg as a brand ambassador, reigniting a relationship that dates back to 1975.

“Creativity and individualism were hallmarks of my game and my style both on and off the court,” Björn said in a statement. “I am thrilled to reunite with Fila. The brand was there for my most iconic moments in tennis, and we have always shared a passion for blending performance and style.”
