Tyler the Creator Is Obsessed With Suicoke Sandals — and Here’s the Proof

Tyler the Creator, who never saw a crazy print or weird fashion statement he didn’t love, is bringing mandals back.

Over the weekend, the rapper debuted a new footwear collaboration during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, teaming up with hip Japanese sandal brand Suicoke to reinterpret its popular Kaws slide.

The Suicoke x Tyler the Creator/Golf Wang sandal features a cushy padded upper with adjustable Velcro straps and a rugged Vibram outsole, all of which has been colored a peachy pastel shade. The sandal is being sold for a limited time at the Slam Jam pop-up shop, located at 27 Boulevard Jules Ferry in Paris.

But Tyler’s Suicoke fandom goes deeper than this recent design partnership. This summer, the artist, who is making the rounds of the European music festivals, has been spotted multiple times out and about wearing the brand’s Depa V2 strappy sandal, which are available on Ssense.com for $187.

And in a polarizing move, he sometimes pairs the sandals with white socks (cue the gasps).

On stage, though, Tyler has favored the more traditional sneaker option. In particular, he often wears styles from his popular Converse collection.

His most recent “Golf le Fleur” series, which debuted June 1, included four two-tone versions of the Converse One Star style, outfitted with a flower symbol on the side and on the sole. While two of the colorways are sold out on Converse.com, the pink and violet versions of the sneaker are still available for $100.

And fans remain hopeful that the silver version that Tyler has been wearing onstage will find its way to stores soon.
