Cardi B to Receive Style Influencer Award From Designer Christian Louboutin

Cardi B has come a long way since rapping about red bottoms in her 2017 hit “Bodak Yellow.” Since then, she has become a must-see on the red carpet and continues to push boundaries when it comes to her shoes and fashion.

Tomorrow, it will come full circle for Cardi B when Christian Louboutin presents her with FN’s Style Influencer of the Year award. The two will make appearances during the first-ever virtual FN Achievement Awards.

“Every time I go to a retail store, my first session is Louboutin. I just love it. I feel so sexy. I made a song about it. It made me rich. Like, it’s the Louboutin — that’s the one I’m always going to go to,” she told FN about her go-to shoes. “I’ve always been into fashion. Back then, I couldn’t afford what I wanted and now I can.”

The budding businesswoman is quickly building an empire. She has come to influence just about everything in pop culture — from music, fashion and style to social media and politics. In November, she embarked on an even bigger role in the footwear and fashion industries, launching her own Reebok sneaker collection.

“Her freedom, her liberty of speech and basically her commitment to everything [makes Cardi B stand out],” said designer Christian Louboutin. “She stands and fights for what she believes in, she’s the opposite of politically correct. Either you adore that or you hate it, but you cannot stay indifferent. What probably makes her so influential at the moment is she’s authentic and people actually respond to that, and that’s a very good thing.”

Cardi follows J Balvin, Hailey Bieber, Christie Brinkley and more stars that have received FN’s Style Influencer of the Year honor in years past.
