Sarah Jessica Parker is the queen of starting trends. She is Carrie Bradshaw, of course. And even though her HBO hit show “Sex and the City” has been over for years, she’s still setting the standard for fashion lovers.

Parker was seen earlier this week at her South Street Seaport SJP shoe store location in New York, wearing a go-to style she just can’t seem to shake: the Mary Jane.

Her label has seven different silhouettes of the classic school-girl style available now, and Parker herself continues to wear the Mary Jane this summer.

On Wednesday, for instance, she paired her namesake label’s Tartt Mary Jane with cropped grey jeans and a matching tunic. The low heels, named after “The Goldfinch” author Donna Tartt, feature a block heel and glittering fabric.

The actress and entrepreneur has been busy making her rounds to her retail stores in the city. While sneakers are ruling the streets these days, Parker is making a case for the Mary Jane, proving its an ideal shoe style for women on the go.

In addition to the Tartt option, Parker offers her popular Celine Mary Jane, which comes in a higher heel height. This is a brand favorite, with Parker wearing the look on multiple occasions, including at a recent stop to her brand’s first flagship store, which launched in July. The Mary-Jane trend doesn’t end with Parker, however. Other fashion stars have been spotted in similar shoes this summer as well, seeing that the style is so versatile. It can be paired with dresses, skirts, jean shorts or even socks. Zöe Kravitz has continuously worn the Row’s square-toe leather Mary-Jane flats in New York, for example.

More celebrity fans of the look include Emma Roberts, Taylor Swift, Alexa Chung and Brie Larson.
