Fergie Stars in ‘Alice in Ghettoland’ Campaign for Philipp Plein

Multitasking songstress-turned-shoe designer Fergie has a starring role in Philipp Plein‘s spring ’17 ad campaign, cheekily titled “Alice in Ghettoland.”

The series of images were created in collaboration with famed fashion photographer Steven Klein and show the pop star in full glamazon mode, complete with thigh-high gladiator heels, gold chains and sleek ponytail, as she dominates male model Matthew Terry.

With a cold blue filter, the photos feel sexy and dangerous, and highly ironic considering the Wonderland-esque background set.

And if that background looks familiar, you’re not wrong. Klein utilized pieces from Plein’s over-the-top Milan fashion show set, a fantastical neighborhood watched over by a giant garden gnome. (Fergie also performed at the presentation in September.)

The homage to the show set was intended to mark Plein’s Italian swan song. Next he will take his fashion show extravaganza to New York.

But Fergie has been busy with other projects as well lately. Last week she lent her star power to the Two Ten Footwear Foundation’s annual fundraising gala, performing a selection of new and beloved hits to a crowd of more than 2,000 in Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom. The event hit its fundraising goal of $3.5 million, which will go to shoe people in need.

And on Friday, she paid a visit to the “Today” show to perform her new single “Life Goes On.”
