Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone just can’t stop breaking records.

The decorated athlete ran the 400 meters in a record-breaking 50.65 seconds on Sunday at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in Eugene, Ore. Her time bested the prior top mark of 50.68 seconds, which she set at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.

New Balance, the brand that backs McLaughlin-Levrone, celebrated her win via Instagram.

“When you punch your ticket to the Olympics with a new world record,” the brand wrote on its New Balance Running account on Instagram. “Congratulations to Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone on setting a new world record in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 50.65.”

During the race, McLaughlin-Levrone had the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp MD-X v3 track spike laced up. The look features the brand’s propulsive FuelCell midsole foam underfoot, as well as a full-length carbon fiber plate.

Although she didn’t lace up this specific colorway, the FuelCell SuperComp MD-X v3 shoe was part of McLaughlin-Levrone’s signature collection with New Balance that debuted in March. The range of footwear and apparel included both performance styles and comfort-driven pieces for everyday wear, and were all dressed in earth tones.

“They all encompass who I am, all the different parts — the track, training and everyday life,” McLaughlin-Levrone said of the footwear in her collection in conversation with FN. The range also included the 9060 and the FuelCell Rebel v4 running shoe.
