Sam Edelman Partners With Welcome Baby to Support Low-Income Mothers Ahead of Mother’s Day

Sam Edelman and nonprofit Welcome Baby are teaming up to support low-income mothers. Ahead of Mother’s Day, the fashion brand will host a special event at its SoHo Store in New York on Friday, May 10.

At the event, in partnership with Welcome Baby and former Harper’s Bazaar director and entrepreneur Kerry Pieri, attendees will have the chance to assemble care packages filled with essential items for new mothers. Packages will be distributed to New York Hospitals.

In America, more than 3 million infants, toddlers, and preschoolers live in poverty, according to Welcome Baby. The organization works to provide low-income mothers with one comprehensive package containing everything she and her newborn need in the first four weeks of life. Items include mittens, socks, hats, pacifiers, baby’s first book, diapers, wipes, rash creams, baby carrier, clothing and more.

“Motherhood is not easy. Welcome Baby is an organization that helps make being a mom a little bit easier. A simple solution that is so personal and loving to help care for moms and their newborns,” said Libby Edelman, fashion director and co-founder of Sam Edelman.

During the event, Pieri will lead discussions on fashion and philanthropy, highlighting Sam Edelman’s philanthropic efforts, and how others can get involved in their mission to positively impact and empower communities nationwide.

In February, Sam Edelman announced that it is expanding into kids’ footwear licensed by Esquire Brands. The children’s line launched this spring and includes an assortment of signature Sam Edelman styles such as mini versions of the Gigi Thong, the Bay Slide and more.
