Under Armour Adds NBA Rookie Jarace Walker to Its Roster of Athletes

Under Armour has added NBA rookie Jarace Walker to its athlete roster.

Walker — a product of Baltimore, which is also home to Under Armour — has history with the brand. For instance, the hooper played in the brand’s grassroots basketball program, the Under Armour Next UAA circuit. Also, he attended IMG Academy, a high school sponsored by Under Armour. Most recently, Walker was a leader and a coach at the 2023 Under Armour Elite 24 event, a high school basketball game featuring the top 24 boys and girls high school basketball players in the country.

“My journey with Under Armour and IMG Academy has been so positive and I’m excited to bring those same opportunities to kids in my community and around the world,” Walker said in a statement.

Walker played one season for the University of Houston where he earned 2022-23 American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year honors, among several other awards. He was drafted No. 8 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards and was traded on draft day to the Indiana Pacers.

“It’s not often that we get the privilege to work with an athlete from day one and see them rise to every challenge. We’re thrilled to have Jarace continue to represent what it means to be an Under Armour athlete,” Under Armour SVP of global sports marketing Sean Eggert said in a statement.

The NBA regular season will begin for Walker and the Pacers on Oct. 25 when they face the Washington Wizards at home on the Gainbridge Fieldhouse court.
