H.H. Brown Inks Deal with Carmen Marc Valvo

H.H. Brown is building its fashion offerings with the addition of women’s footwear from New York-based couture and ready-to-wear label Carmen Marc Valvo.

The firm on Monday announced the partnership after the shoes debuted at the Carmen Marc Valvo runway show during New York Fashion Week. The move is a step further into the high-end realm for H.H. Brown, which produces other women’s lines such as Born, Kork-Ease and Isola. “We are pleased to be entering the luxury market for fall 2013,” said company President and CEO Jim Issler.

The made-in-Italy footwear collection retails from $445 to $695 and includes baroque and rock ‘n’ roll-inspired booties, ankle-strap pumps and Mary Jane styles in suede, patent and mesh. “[Valvo] has always been known for his luxurious fabrications,” Issler noted. “This footwear collection [is aimed at making] the wearer feel feminine and fabulous just as his dresses do.”

Valvo was also upbeat about the deal. “I have  strong passion for footwear and it’s something I have always wanted to add to my repertoire,” the designer said. “But just as in love, you have to select your mate carefully. It’s taken 10 years for me to find the right partner… I couldn’t be more thrilled with this marriage [and] the ability [of] our teams to work together to convey a cohesive message.”
