Mr Porter Names New Editorial And Buying Directors

Mr Porter has named Fiona Firth buying director and Andrew Barker editorial director, the company said.

Firth starts her new role in April and will oversee the buying and merchandising teams. She is currently men’s wear buying director at River Island and was previously men’s wear head of buying and merchandising at Harvey Nichols. She has held positions at Burton and Harrods. She will report to managing director Toby Bateman. Bateman was the former buying director and was promoted to managing director last year.

“Fiona’s key experience comes from her time as head of men’s wear at Harvey Nichols, where she was instrumental in introducing a number of designer and contemporary brands to the U.K. market,” Bateman said.

“In her latest role as men’s wear buying director at River Island, she is responsible for global sourcing and a fast design and production process. This mix of luxury designer and high street experience makes Fiona a unique talent in the men’s wear business and we are excited to welcome her to Mr Porter.”

Barker will begin his position in May, and will be oversee the brand’s editorial, including the online weekly magazine, The Journal, and The Mr Porter Post. He will report to brand and content director Jeremy Langmead. Barker has replaced Jodie Harrison who has left the company to join Soho House Group.

Prior to joining the company, his editorial roles included editor of ES, the Evening Standard magazine and Business of Fashion.
