Kurt Geiger Teams with Hope and Homes for Children Charity

Kurt Geiger is taking a departure from showcasing high-octane holiday windows this year, and is instead donating the funds it would have spent on the windows to the charity Hope and Homes for Children, which works to end the institutional care of children globally.

In the place of a glitzy holiday window, Kurt Geiger’s U.K. stores will showcase a single scarlet bauble, to represent “love for every single child,” the footwear firm said. The label first worked with the charity over the summer, when it staged a fundraising walk in London to mark International Children’s Day June 1.

Neil Clifford, chief executive officer of Kurt Geiger said: “This Christmas, we hope to raise awareness of this incredible charity, inspire others to act and raise money to change children’s lives.” Customers in Kurt Geiger’s stores will be invited to donate to support the charity either at the point of payment; by visiting hopeandhomes.co.uk or by texting to donate. The campaign, which also appears on Kurt Geiger’s Web site, will run during December, and up until Dec. 12 the British government will donate 1 pound, or $1.57, for every 1 pound that a customer donates.
