Emerging and advanced designers will have plenty of Space by Nordstrom.
The retailer will expand its in-store Space boutiques in four shopping destination markets:
• The Mall at Green Hills in Nashville, Tenn. (Thursday)
• The Grove in Los Angeles (Friday)
• Eaton Centre in Toronto (Sept. 16)
• Yorkdale Centre in Toronto (Oct. 21)
“These cities are known for their amazing fashion, and the people there have such a strong sense of individual style. We want to make a statement with our stores in these markets and identify them as destinations for fashion, style, art and culture,” Olivia Kim, Nordstrom’s vice president of creative projects, said in a statement. “Our customers are really curious and educated about fashion, and part of our goal with Space is to create a platform to introduce our customers to this side of designer fashion — this place where the directional collections or up-and-comers have a place to live and grow.”

Kim and her team created an exclusive capsule collection for the Toronto stores featuring items from Canadian designers Brother Vellies, Steven Tai, WWAKE and Vejas.
Some of the footwear curated by Kim that is available to purchase online and at some Space stores includes a selection of boots, clogs, mules, heels and sandals by labels such as Vetements, Acne, Jacquemus, Simone Rocha and Brother Vellies.
Kim launched the standalone concept last year as a way to highlight rising designers and introduce brands to consumers. Space shops are also in Seattle, Chicago, Vancouver and San Francisco.
