Two Ten WIFI and NSRA To Host Industry Events in October and November

The footwear industry is preparing a series of fall ’15 events sponsored by  Two Ten WIFI and the National Shoe Retailers Association.

On Oct. 22, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Two Ten WIFI and New Balance are co-hosting a panel discussion to be held in Brighton, Mass.

Panelists include Dr. Priscilla Brastianos, director, Central Nervous System Metastasis Program at Massachusetts General Hospital; Dr. Ann Partridge, founder and director of Young Women with Breast Cancer and director of Adult Survivorship Program at Dana Farber and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard School of Medicine; and Dr. Barbara Smith, director, Breast Cancer Program and co-director, Gilette Center for Women’s Cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Separately, the NSRA is holding its Annual Leadership Conference Nov. 19-20 in Charleston, S.C. Randy Brown, former NSRA chairman and president of Brown’s Enterprises, will serve as master of ceremonies.

Among the speakers will be Dr. Rick Rigsby, president and CEO of Rick Rigsby Communications, who will present “The Quest for Greatness,” covering ways to develop a mindset of extraordinary performance and building organizational value by discovering competitive advantages.

Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst at The NPD Group, will covers the topic “All Consumers Want Is for You to Make Their Lives Better,” discussing the market-share battle between online and brick-and-mortar in the changing retail landscape.

Dr. Noah Barksy, a professor at Villanova University School of Business, will present “Dollars & Sense: Making Financial Statements Work For You.”

Dr. Paul Langer, a podiatrist and clinical faculty member at the University of Minnesota Medical School, will present “The Footwear Retailer’s Role in the Health & Wellness Industry: Opportunities for Growth & Profits.”

Bob Negen, co-founder of WhizBang!, will present “Reinventing Retail,” while Joe Mechlinski, CEO and co-founder of entreQuest, will present “Grow Regardless.”

In addition, NSRA attendees will team with event co-sponsors Soles4Souls and Timberland to fit shoes for students at Mitchell elementary school in Charleston on Nov. 19.
