This Advisory Services Firm Just Got A Major Tech Addition

Cutting edge tech is a priority for businesses, and its allure is especially appealing to those looking to expand their portfolio of services.

The latest organization to grow its offerings: BDO USA LLP. The firm, which provides advisory and accounting services to the footwear industry, said it has acquired IT solutions provider SWC Technology Partners LLC.

“SWC has been a … business adviser to middle market businesses for many years, providing technology solutions that match the needs of midmarket organizations,” said Jay Duke, national managing partner for advisory services at BDO USA. “In adding SWC, which has more than 400 clients, we’ve added a well-established, regional player that we can build into a market leading national platform.”

The acquisition of the IT consulting firm has added 215 employees to BDO’s advisory practice. According to a spokesman for BDO, SWC Technology Partners aims to “optimize productivity, strengthen customer relationships, enhance data sharing and drive profitability.”

“By joining BDO, a … brand with expansive global resources, we will have a wider platform and more delivery channels to continue building upon our success,” said Bob Knott, BDO principal and president of SWC Technology Partners. “Our people will now have more opportunities to serve a broader client base and to grow their careers.”

The spokesman noted, “SWC Technology Partners will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of BDO USA, with all current personnel operating from their existing office in Oak Brook, Illinois, and a satellite office in Indianapolis, Indiana.”
