Anna Wintour Says She Got Lost At The Yeezy Season 3 Show

You might think the notoriously stoic Anna Wintour doesn’t get shaken up too often, but think again.

On Tuesday, the Vogue editor-in-chief told “Late Night” host Seth Myers that when she tried to quietly slip out from the Yeezy Season 3 show at Madison Square Garden in February, she got herself into a bit of a bind.

“I got there very early … and they put me in this sort of huge VIP section, and I was the only person sitting there for about half an hour,” she said.

Myers showed a picture of Wintour sitting alone and said jokingly, “This is so sad, Anna. Because of your reputation, I feel like people might look at this empty section, and they might think you requested that.”

Wintour said that after the Kardashian/Jenner family arrived and the show began, she noticed that Jay Z, who was also sitting in the section, slipped out about 45 minutes in. Wintour thought she could do the same.

“But I slid into the basement of Madison Square Garden, and I was lost,” she said. “I was lost in there for half an hour asking various people to take me out. I was really in tears.”

Wintour said a security guard finally recognized her not for her fame but because he coached her son’s baseball team and escorted her to an exit.

The editor was on the show to promote the upcoming documentary titled “The First Monday in May,” about preparation for the annual Met Gala in New York.
