CFDA Awards Get A New Venue This Year

It was time for a change to the CFDA‘s annual awards ceremony. The Council of Fashion Designers of America announced today that after seven years of hosting the awards at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, the big event this year is moving to the Hammerstein Ballroom in midtown Manhattan.

The move to the opera house-turned-event space also comes with a new feature this year: a seated dinner and show. The awards ceremony is on June 6, with nominees set to be announced on March 16.

“We were able to elevate the awards significantly with the great stage at Alice Tully Hall,” said Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA, in a release. “Over the years, people have asked us for a more social evening, with dinner. The Hammerstein provides us with just that, while also giving us a great stage.”
