Cristiano Ronaldo Spotted in Air Jordan Retro III Sneakers

Even though he’s a world-class soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t opposed to wearing basketball sneakers. The Real Madrid player was spotted leaving his hotel in Melbourne, Australia, on Tuesday wearing Air Jordan III Retro 88 Nike Air sneakers.

Sneakerheads will likely be envious of Ronaldo’s footwear. In February 2013, Nike re-released the style Ronaldo was seen wearing. Long gone by now, those looking to find a pair should be prepared to pay around $400 for this colorway on Amazon or eBay.

The white leather sneakers feature black and red accents and the classic black and silver “elephant print.” The silhouette, originally released in 1988, was designed by Tinker Hatfield, the brains behind many Nike styles. Also, the now-iconic “jump man” logo was used for the first time on this style. The colorway of Ronaldo’s pair was introduced in 2003.

Ronaldo, originally from Portugal, began his career playing for Manchester United. In 2009, Real Madrid paid $131 million to poach him. Aside from his successful career, Ronaldo also has his own fashion line. His CR7 collection started by offering socks and underwear and is now developing a premium shirt line in partnership with designer Richard Chai.

Still, dropping a few hundred dollars seems more reasonable compared to a pair of unworn Air Jordan III’s from 1988 that were going for almost $30,000 on eBay recently.
