Jennifer Hudson knows how to make a simple black pump look glamorous. The singer was spotted on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in a style by Giuseppe Zanotti.
The star talked to Meyers about her Broadway debut in “The Color Purple.” The host asked if it took some adjusting to being on a new stage.
“Yes, it did, because it’s so different than film or in the studio with a mic,” Hudson said. “There is no feeling like the energy of Broadway.”
But Hudson joked that there are no reshoots or additional takes on Broadway. “Oh no, honey, ain’t none of that,” she told Meyers.
Since the show returned to Broadway, Hudson said it has generated a large following of fans. “People are crying, people are acting it out, people are reciting the lines,” she said. “We have to act all the way through it, like it didn’t happen.”
