If the shoe fits, wear it — but if it doesn’t, that’s not going to stop Kelly Rowland.
Speaking to Footwear News at Beautycon on Saturday in Los Angeles, the singer recalled a moment when she let shoe envy get the best of her.
“I remember being in love with a friend of mine’s shoes,” she explained. “Her foot was three sizes smaller than mine, and I still stuffed my big Cinderella sister foot in her shoe.”
Admittedly, “it was uncomfortable,” but the Destiny’s Child alumna rocked the pumps anyway, because, of course, “It looked cute!”
The Grammy Award winner had on a pair of nude suede sandals at the beauty festival and promoted her forthcoming makeup line with her business partner, makeup artist Sheika Daley.
“We’re coming out with a makeup line called Face,” she shared. “It started off with lashes, but it’s starting to grow bigger than that. We can’t wait to supply women out there with our line — with a Face.”

Rowland was joined by beauty influencer Abisola Kola-Daisi, wearing a pair of Jimmy Choo heels, who founded Nigerian luxury footwear and handbag boutique Florence H.
Later at the QVC booth, Rowland and her friends greeted Mally Roncal, TV personality and founder of her namesake beauty line.
Roncal confessed to FN that after hours standing in her nude YSL pumps, she planned to switch to more comfortable heels.
Meanwhile at the festival, Nike’s Brahaus hub presented the sportswear brand’s new colorful Nikewomen Pro Bra collection and companion sneakers, including pairs of the Air Max Thea and Free Focus Flyknit training shoes.
Celebrity presentations at the day-long program included panels by Tyra Banks, who donned a pair of yellow pumps, and Ashley Tisdale in nude sandals.
Other appearances included as Christina Milian, who had on a pair of Air Jordan 11 Retro shoes, actress Kelli Berglund in Giuseppe Zanotti, model Karrueche Tran in Jimmy Choo and “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” star Dorothy Wang in Emilio Pucci Lucite heels.
Speaking to FN, Berglund said that she broke her budget when she purchased the metallic Zanotti heels along with a pair of sneakers from the label. “I never splurge on things because I’m the most frugal person ever,” she said. “I wear the heck out of both of them.”
Berglund will appear next in the sequel to Dolly Parton’s biopic “Coat of Many Colors.”
“She’s about 10 years old in the film, and I play her older sister Willadeene,” she shared. “It takes place in the ‘50s, and we’re a really poor family. They have me in these tiny ratted-up shoes — these ain’t no Giuseppes — but it’s really fun, and it comes out around Christmas.”
