MTV Video Music Awards’ Most Memorable Shoes On The Red Carpet

The MTV Video Music Awards are just days away from landing in New York. While music will certainly be taking center stage Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, it will be a major moment in fashion, too.

Today, the VMAs red carpet carries a bit of a shock value, with stars one-upping each other for the raunchiest, most outrageous and most Instagram-worthy look. But in those early days, there were some real shoe moments.

The VMAs red carpet is the place that gave us a few classic moments in fashion, such as the Spice Girls in 1997 in all their platform-shoe glory.
