Fashion is fierce in the latest season of “Pretty Little Liars.” Season 7 of the Freeform network series is rumored to be the last, so the cast is pulling out all the wardrobe and shoe stops. Here, costume designer Cameron Dale gives an inside look at the style evolution of the leading actresses.
Which character has the best shoe wardrobe right now?
“Since Hanna [who’s played by Ashley Benson] has been working in fashion, her shoe game has been very strong. She has been sporting Louboutins, Sophia Webster and Tabitha Simmons for her work looks. I love a statement heel to elevate her work [style]. When Hanna is more casual, we have her in a bootie or mule by Dolce Vita.”

What are some of the other main shoe brands featured in Season 7?
“Aria [Lucy Hale] has been in so much Isabel Marant this season — the sneakers and booties have been her closet staples. For a dressier shoe, she has been wearing YSL. For Emily [Shay Mitchell], we keep it sporty: Adidas, Nike and Vans. Spencer [Troian Bellisario] stays true to her preppy roots wearing Tory Burch and Rag & Bone.”
What fashion moment are you most excited about this season?
“We have a super-secret wedding in our finale that I’m preparing for. I love costume designing weddings, as we all get to live vicariously through our bride.”
Which character’s fashion sense has changed the most over the years — and why?
“Every girl has changed so much since the series premiere seven years ago. When I joined the show as costume designer, we jumped five years forward in time, and that’s when we really saw the girls’ style evolve. Aria has had a big evolution — we kept the mismatched patterns and unexpected color combinations, but she has left behind the studded vests and giant statement earrings.”
