Prince George & Princess Charlotte Show Off Their Style In Photo With Queen Elizabeth II

Britain’s youngest royals are stealing the spotlight yet again.

As celebrations get underway today for the milestone 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, Buckingham Palace released a charming photo of the reigning monarch posing with her two youngest grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, including Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Taken by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz at Windsor Castle last month, the captivating image features the queen seated in a chair in the Green Drawing Room, holding 11-month old Princess Charlotte in her lap.

Baby Charlotte is well turned out in a pretty floral print dress layered with a pale pink cardigan and accessorized with pink knit tights and a tiny pair of cream leather T-bar shoes. Two-year-old George stands next to the queen, wearing a navy-blue Fina Ejerique cardigan sweater, paired with burgundy shorts and his favorite Start-rite Jo buckled shoes.

To the right of George is his 4-year-old cousin Isla Phillips, wearing classic T-bar shoes and ruffled socks, and to the left is his 5-year-old cousin Savannah Phillips. Both are the children of Peter and Autumn Phillips. Standing to the left of the queen is great-granddaughter Mia Tindall, proudly holding her grandmother’s Launer handbag in what is said to have been an unscripted moment. Two-year-old Mia, wearing Mary Jane shoes with ruffled socks, is the daughter of Zara Phillips and former English rugby player Mike Tindall.

Also featured are two of the Queen Elizabeth II’s grandchildren, 8-year-old Viscount James and 12-year-old Lady Louise, whose parents are Prince Edward, the Earl of Essex, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

To cap off her historic birthday, this evening the queen will light the first of a series of more than 1,000 beacons across the U.K. and around the world in celebration of the occasion. She will then attend a private family dinner at Windsor Castle, staged by son Charles, Prince of Wales. On Friday, she is set to host President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, at a private lunch.

On Wednesday, a photo was released of four generations of the royal family — Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George. The photo will appear on Royal Mail stamps. George wore his favorite Start-rite Jo T-strap shoes.
