Exclusive: Robert Clergerie Debuts New Film Cast From Instagram

Insta-challenges are all the rage these days, with likes, savvy social relevance and user-generated brand content the end goal. Thus, heritage French footwear house Robert Clergerie recently conducted a viral search for stylish subjects to tag its best posts with #ClergerieGirls. From the more than 600 submissions, four finalists were asked to post a photo weekly on their Instagram accounts, for six weeks, wearing a different pair of Robert Clergerie shoes. These images were also posted on Clergerie’s social channels.

The contest, which concluded in January, was judged by designer Roland Mouret, who moonlights as creative director of Clergerie, and his favorite Insta-influencer Leandra Medine, better known as @ManRepeller.

In the end, Katy Shayne was chosen as the ultimate Clergerie Girl. Her prize was an enviable one for many: a trip to Paris during February’s fashion week, access to fashion shows and after-parties, a dinner in her honor at Castel, plus a trip to the Robert Clergerie Atelier in Romans, France, to work with the creative team on the design of her own shoe, which will launch in September.

And now, all four finalists were brought back together for a short fashion film chronicling the process and capturing their idiosyncratic, insta-friendly style. Austin, Texas-based Shayne stars in the clip alongside Los Angeles’ Taylr Anne, San Fransisco’s Jen Szeto and New York’s Betül Yildiz.

Watch the new Clergerie Girls video below to see how they respectively wear Clergerie’s signature wedges, flatforms and block heel loafers from the spring ’16 collection.
