Shoes for Crews LLC, a leader in slip-resistant footwear, announced Tuesday it has entered into a letter of intent to acquire the Mozo Shoes brand of slip-resistant footwear for the culinary market, from Chinook Asia LLC. The parties expect the transaction to close this summer.
According to Shoes for Crews, which has been producing footwear since 1984, Mozo will complement its existing portfolio of athletic, casual, dress and work shoes for men and women. Mozo, which launched in 2008, will be operate as a separate brand and be sold through Shoes for Crews’ existing channels of distribution.
“The Mozo brand is known within the culinary circles for premium, stylish and slip-resistant footwear crafted especially for culinary professionals,” said Stuart Jenkins, president, CEO and chief innovation officer for Shoes for Crews. “We are delighted to be able to offer the full Mozo line to our customers through our multiple distribution channels, including corporate programs, catalog, e-commerce, retail stores and international platforms. We will maintain the Mozo brand, design ethos and product line while further enhancing its safety performance by applying Shoes for Crews’ industry-best slip resistant outsole technology.”
