Street Style: Top Shoes From the Start of Paris Fashion Week

Coming to you straight from the streets of Paris, Footwear News has found the most fashion-forward footwear in the City of Light. But as Fashion Month takes its final bow in the French capital, we’ve got to ask: Have the street-chic set saved the best for last?

Introducing a range of footwear options, from athletic-inspired New Balance kicks to lace-up, graffiti-covered Dr. Martens and leopard-print booties, Paris’ panoply of styles is certainly worthy of your favorite Pinterest boards.

My money is on the animal-print boots, but the light-up pearl-sole sneakers are also in the running for Top Shod at the Shows, if you ask me. I’ve polled a few fellow editors to see whose shoes they think steal the limelight off the runway.

Christian Allaire, high-end men’s editor: “Those sneakers are hot. This is a perfect example of printed shoes done right. You want to keep the outfit minimal without it being too boring, and I love how he really goes for the muted color palette.”

Margaret Sutherlin, associate editor: “Paris is possibly best known as the city of easy chic. These T-strap flats are the perfect blend of feminine function and trend-first styling, but matched with a cozy overcoat and scarf, they feel practical and pretty for a busy Fashion Week.”

Kristen Henning, women’s editor: “The leopard boots are bold and just the right amount of fun. Plus, her standout printed orange scarf is a nice color complement to the brown hues featured on the shoes. Standout style looks effortless here.”
