Already, the U.S. has won 12 medals, including two for swimmer Katie Ledecky’s freestyle relay performances. This week’s highlights include tennis, gymnastics individual finals and several swimming events featuring Michael Phelps.

The Magic sourcing conference gets underway on Aug. 14, with the regular trade shows set for Aug. 15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention center.

This week is a big one for luxury and contemporary brands. Coach hosts its full-year results call Tuesday, while Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren report on Wednesday.
Department-Store Earnings
Department stores have not had an easy go of it in 2016, suffering prolonged weakness after the holidays and continuing slides in consumer traffic. With the recent GDP report driven by the consumers and continued job-reports momentum, stores could start to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Macy’s, Kohl’s and Nordstrom report on Thursday, while JC Penney’s call is set for Friday.
