Ben Shelton beat fellow American tennis player Tommy Paul to advance to the US Open quarterfinals at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City on Sunday. The 20-year-old Atlanta native looked sleek, outfitted in a head-to-toe On look as he came out victorious.
After turning pro just last year, Shelton signed a deal with the Switzerland-based brand backed by tennis legend Roger Federer. The rising star donned a bright white muscle tee and shorts, both of which were accented with trendy Barbiecore pink on one side. He wore coordinating terry wristbands, but the matching stopped there.
On foot, the up-and-comer sported a pair of white On sneakers featuring hits of royal blue. Shelton was wearing On’s debut performance tennis shoe co-designed with Federer. The shoe, retailing for $200, is available in other colorways in both men’s and women’s sizes at on-running.com.

The style was originally created as a one-off model that was made precisely to fit Federer’s feet. Aptly dubbed “The Roger Pro,” the sneakers are crafted with a breathable, supportive engineered mesh upper, high-performance foam and a midfoot cage meant to secure the foot.
Shelton wowed the crowd with two impressive serves reaching just under 150 miles per hour in the match against Paul yesterday. Andy Roddick currently holds the record for the fastest serve ever at the US Open. The former tennis star’s serve reached 152mph at the tournament in 2004.
In a post-game interview, Shelton attributed the serves to “straight adrenaline.” He said, “I think any other atmosphere I wouldn’t be able to get it down, and I think my arm might have come off. But it is feeling pretty good right now.”
Shelton will face off against another fellow American, Frances Tiafoe, on Tuesday.
