Beyoncé Wraps Formation World Tour With Serena Williams Twerking

Beyoncé’s 49-stop Formation World Tour wrapped with a grand slam of a finale.

Dipping and popping alongside the diva onstage Friday in East Rutherford, N.J., was Serena Williams, reprising the same mastery of twerking that she displayed in Queen Bey’s “Lemonade” visual album.

Referring to the title track she dance to, the Nike-sponsored tennis star captioned an Instagram photo “Not sorry,” and showed off her sparkling black lace leotard and fishnet stockings. In another snap, the winner of 22 Grand Slam singles titles gave fans a look at her Formation World Tour jacket.

Tour stylist Marni Senofonte revealed to Footwear News in a previous interview that Bey’s dancers mostly wear Guess booties and shoes by Pleaser.

“It works really well,” Senofonte shared. “This is a mainstream shoe that happened to be danceable. We have a couple different colors, and they dance in a few over-the-knee boots by Pleaser — they sent us a lot of stuff, and they are great for shine.”

Other special guests included Beyoncé’s husband, Jay Z; together they performed “Drunk in Love.” Rapper Kendrick Lamar joined the songbird to close out the show to “Freedom.”

The tour launched April 27 in Miami and featured customized boots with 2.5-to-3-inch heels by Christian Louboutin, Roberto Cavalli and Balmain, among others.
